Quantum key distribution and One Laptop Per Child (OLPC)

You may have heard of the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) program which aims to develop an ultra-low cost laptop as a means of bringing technology to the developing world’s children.  Well, a couple of researchers from the Centre for Quantum Technologies at the National University of Singapore have successfully implemented entanglement based quantum key distribution using the OLPC laptops, known as XO’s.  How cool is that?
