Is the International Space Station really a mini-Death Star?

The ISS’ new “window on the world” opened today.  Below is an actual photo from inside the ISS looking out at Earth.  The architecture is creepily Star Wars-esque (think the cockpit of a TIE fighter, a top-down view of R2-D2, or certain windows on the Death Star):

  1. Except that the illusion is spoiled by those window shades: decidedly primitive and un-stylish. They should have consulted the Levelor people.
