Congratulations to Dave Wineland and Serge Haroche for winning this year’s Nobel Prize in Physics!  Finally a true quantum information and quantum computing Nobel honor!  Now if Bill Wootters would just get one, I’d be content…

Dave’s work is primarily in ion traps and he’s involved in the NIST group that is developing ion trap quantum computers.  One of his collaborators at NIST is Didi Leibfried who has served on the editorial board of The Quantum Times for a number of years now.  I smell a cover article…
